Psalm of the Pianist

I sit here on the stool
      and play and play
      until the keys are drenched
with the sweat of my fingertips.
I play until my hands cry out for a rest.
The flow of melodies
      that flood the air
Reflect the journey
      of a humble servant
From the thundering love
of my heart beating with Yours
To the smooth floating silence
of the peace I've found in You
The songs continue
I am trapped at the piano
Enslaved by this love
      that cries out to You.
Though my fingers slip and slide
You do not hear the dischords
I cannot leave Your song to rest
For I am one with my piano
as I am one with You
